The Effect of Health Promotion Program on Self-efficacy, Physical Fitness and Quality of Life of Middle-aged Women

Abstract
Purpose. This study is aimed at showing the effect of health promotion program on self-efficacy, physical fitness and quality of life of middle-aged women.

Method. The research design was the nonequivalent control group pre-post test. Twelve middle-aged women were experimental group and ten were control group. The 8-week health promotion program was given to experimental group. The measurement tool were the Self-efficacy scale developed by Sherer, & Maddix, abdominal muscle power, gasping powder, flexibility as physical fitness, and quality of life scale developed by Ro.

Result. The experimental group showed more score of self-efficacy score, abdominal muscle power and flexibility than the control group. There were no differences on grasping power and quality of life between experimental and control groups.

Conclusion. It is necessary that nurses should provide with health promotion program for middle-aged women to improve self-efficacy, abdominal muscle power and flexibility. And It¢¥s necessary to re-study with more samples, longer duration of treatment and lower mortality than this research.
